The Foundation’s assistance programme
Stiftelsen Sveriges Sjömanshus carries out its assistance programme according to the provisions decided on by the Maritime Authority (04-03-1993)
1. The Foundation is to offer assistance, where necessary, to individuals or relatives of individuals that are or have been active in the maritime industry
2. The Foundation is to actively promote the welfare and interests of seafarers.
Among the Foundation’s activities are:
- Promotion of training and education
- Promotion of improvements in safety, working and social environment for seafarers. This can be achieved through assistance to research and development projects, encouragement of suggestions for improvements, etc.
- Rewarding exceptional marine rescues
Assistance is offered within the following areas:
