Economic assistance in the form of a one-off payment can be made to onboard employees.
Assistance can be offered for emergencies in areas such as:
- Own health
- Own subsistence
- Own accommodation
- Own re-education due to work-related injury or sickness.
Criteria for receipt of emergency assistance
- The recipient has spent at least 10 months at sea on a Swedish-registered or Swedish controlled vessel
- The recipient qualifies according to the criteria for grants.
- Where the recipient is no longer working at sea, no more than 12 months have elapsed since signing off.
Applications for emergency assistance should be made directly to the Foundation’s office.
