The Foundation’s literary prize can be awarded to individuals that the Directors feel have made major and exceptional contributions to maritime literature.
The term maritime literature includes novels, poetry, drama and documentaries.
The prize can be awarded to writers for a publication within these areas during the year or for a collection of publications over several years.
Nominations for the award are made by a special literary committee.
The committee’s nomination, and motivation for same, is presented to the Directors for a decision.
